Witness To Hiroshima, a documentary short film by my friend and fellow photographer, Kathy Sloane, will be screening at the Asian American International Film Festival! Even cooler is the fact that her film is an “Official Selection” and has been “Nominated for Excellence in Short Film Making.”
Ms. Sloane will be in town and will be available at both Witness To Hiroshima screenings on July 24th and 25th for question and answer sessions. Hope to see you there!

Am thrilled to see this film get recognition. Long ago as a second year high school student I stumbled upon John Hersey book, Hiroshima. It broke my heart and afterwards I never ‘bought’ any arguement in support of dropping the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Total annihilation of absolutely defenseless people is what that amounted to in my mind.
Another enlightning book is Nagasaki Journey, The Photographs of Yosuke Yamahata-August 10, 1945. Look at his photos and decide for yourself about ‘warfare’ of any kind. shanti
